The rules of The Canada Brief: what you may do with the site and its content, and what we expect of your comments.

Last updated: Oct 5, 2026

What this text says

  • The Canada Brief publishes the news from Canada and the world, as stories. Reading the site, liking a story or commenting on it means accepting these terms.
  • What The Canada Brief keeps about you is explained on the Privacy page.

The Canada Brief's content

  • The stories are written for The Canada Brief. They summarise the news; they do not replace reading the press, and we do our best to make them accurate, without being able to guarantee it. If you see a mistake, write to [email protected]: we correct it.
  • The Canada Brief's texts, illustrations and videos are protected. You may share them with the site's buttons; reproducing them elsewhere requires our written consent.
  • A photo that carries a credit stays under its own licence, the one shown under the image.

Your comments

  • To comment, you sign in with Google. You are responsible for what you write.
  • Do not post insults, hateful remarks, threats, advertising, unlawful content, or private information about someone else.
  • Each comment is checked before it appears; a rejected comment is deleted. We may also remove a published comment, or close an account, that does not follow these rules.
  • You can ask for your account and your comments to be erased at any time, by writing to [email protected].

Instagram, Facebook and other networks

  • The Canada Brief also publishes its stories and videos on its own Instagram and Facebook accounts. Those networks have their own terms and their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Liability

  • The site is provided as is, free of charge. We cannot guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for any damage arising from its use or from an interruption.
  • We may change these terms; the date at the top of the page says when.
