Shell and TotalEnergies post their highest profits since 2022

Shell third-quarter net profit

10.81 US$ billion

Shell's third-quarter net profit was US$10.81 billion, almost double a year earlier and above analysts' estimate of US$10.33 billion.

TotalEnergies reported adjusted net income of US$9.1 billion, more than double a year earlier. Shell raised its quarterly buyback to US$5 billion from US$3 billion.

Shell, per barrel

US$42

Total, per barrel

US$33.2

Refining margins nearly quadrupled for both companies compared with a year ago, as war-driven energy prices lifted earnings.
