Cameco reports a $43-million third-quarter profit, up from break-even a year ago.

The uranium miner's revenue edged up to $619 million for the quarter ended Sept 30, from $615 million a year ago.

On an adjusted basis, Cameco reported a loss of $2 million, against an adjusted profit of $32 million a year earlier.

The company says results were lower mainly because of lower equity earnings from Westinghouse, lower sales volumes and a higher unit cost of sales, partly offset by higher realized prices.
