European gas tops 101 euros for the first time since 2022

Europe's benchmark gas price reached 101.82 euros per megawatt-hour on Friday, topping 100 euros for the first time since 2022.

EU gas storage was 74.89 per cent full on Oct 29, well below the five-year average of about 86 per cent for this time of year.
Concern that the Middle East escalation will keep choking Qatari and Emirati LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz is pushing prices up. QatarEnergy this week extended its force majeure on LNG deliveries to the end of the year.
