US Central Command says it helped Gulf countries export more than 1.5 billion barrels of oil since June, with more than 3,000 commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

The command says more than 95 per cent of ships sailed through safely despite Iranian threats, and that the main routes are free of Iranian mines.
