Putin will skip his address to the Federal Assembly for a second year

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Sunday that no address is planned before the end of the year. Putin will give one when he sees fit.

Putin last gave the address on Feb 29, 2024, shortly before his election to a fifth term. Russia's constitution requires it.

What's next

Peskov said preparations are under way for Putin's year-end news conference and call-in show, usually held in December.
