Libya summons the US chargé d'affaires over Trump's remarks

Libya's foreign ministry summoned the top US diplomat on Sunday to protest "offensive" remarks Trump made at a rally in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday.

At the rally, Trump listed Libya among countries he called "terror-infested" and revived a crude phrase he used about such countries in his first term.

Libya cannot remain a corridor for illegal migration, and this must end now.

Rival authorities in eastern and western Libya both condemned the remarks, rejecting the use of Libya's name in "electoral disputes".
