British Jewish body votes to call the Green Party racist

The Board of Deputies of British Jews voted to declare the Green Party of England and Wales a "racist party", over a conference motion on Zionism adopted earlier this month.

The Board said the vote at an online meeting was overwhelming.

The Greens rejected the Board's characterization. A party spokesman said the Greens do not discriminate against people who identify as Zionists.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham called the motion "completely wrong" and said Labour will not cooperate with the Greens while the policy stands.
