Mass Effect fans pass 180,000 signatures on a petition after BioWare's closure

Petition signatures

180,000 and counting

The #SaveMassEffect petition on Change.org has passed 180,000 verified signatures.

EA shut down BioWare and cancelled Mass Effect 5 last week, shortly after its acquisition by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake and Affinity Partners.

We are urgently petitioning EA to take decisive action by committing to the continued development of Mass Effect.

— Petition organizer Joe Smith

The petition does not ask EA to reverse the closure. It says EA could instead license the series to another studio, and the voice actors of Commander Shepard back the effort.
