Egypt's parliament authorises military aid for Saudi Arabia
Lawmakers voted Monday to let President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi take the necessary measures to support Saudi Arabia if Riyadh asks. Houthi attacks on Riyadh's airport and Aramco facilities have disrupted flights and oil exports.
Why it matters
Houthi attacks near the Bab al-Mandeb strait have disrupted shipping and cut Suez Canal revenue.
