Trump, denied a Nobel, calls Norway a 'sh*thole' country

At a campaign rally in Michigan on Sunday, Trump said Norway "sucks" and that its emigrants are not welcome in the United States.

Background

He called the Nobel Peace Prize "discredited forever" and an "indelible stain" on Norway. This year's prize went to South African jurist Navi Pillay.

"He knows very well that the Nobel committee is independent."

— Espen Barth Eide, Norway's foreign minister
