Keanu Reeves takes over the lead of Netflix's Maelstrom from Alan Ritchson

Ritchson, the star of Reacher, left the action film for undisclosed reasons. Director Jaume Collet-Serra remains on board, and Netflix declined to comment.

The plot

In Maelstrom, an arms dealer's fiancée plans to testify against him to enter witness protection. A federal marshal guarding her is cut off by a hurricane as the dealer's gang closes in.
