Serbian police shoot an attacker outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said the attacker rushed at an officer with two knives early Wednesday. The officer suffered a minor face wound and shot him dead.

Dacic said the suspect, a Serbian minor, was known to security services as an Islamic State supporter. He raised the terrorism threat level to red alert, the highest.

Israel's foreign ministry said no embassy staff were hurt and the mission was closed at the time. It is the second attack on the embassy in under three years.
