Labour and civil rights icon Dolores Huerta dies at 96
Huerta died Wednesday of cancer at her home in Bakersfield, California, her family said. California's governor ordered flags at half-staff.
Her rallying cry
Sí, se puede
Her slogan, "Sí, se puede", means "Yes, it can be done".
In 1962 she and César Chavez started the group that became the United Farm Workers. She helped win the first health and benefit plans for farmworkers.
"I hope that my legacy will be one of an organizer that organized to fight injustice."
— Dolores Huerta
