UAE court gives eight people life sentences over arms supplies to Sudan's army

Emirati state media said the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal found the group trafficked weapons and ammunition and ran a money-laundering network between the two countries.

The court also ordered confiscations and the deportation of the convicted after their sentences.

Ties have soured: Sudan's military accuses the UAE of arming the rival Rapid Support Forces, which the UAE denies. The war, ongoing since April 2023, has displaced more than 14 million people.
