Investigation links 25 Sudanese commanders to areas of wartime sexual violence
The Centre for Information Resilience, a British investigative group, examined five places and periods of reported abuse in Sudan's war. It covers both the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces, and their allies.
What we know
- 25 commanders held authority where abuse was reported
- Both sides have denied the allegations
Not yet
- Who is responsible for each incident
- Whether any commander will face charges
The group says the commanders held authority where atrocities were reported, but it cannot attribute specific incidents to individuals. Both forces have denied allegations of sexual violence by their personnel.
