Swedish academic says the UK barred him over a Palestine Action event

Andreas Malm says a Home Office letter told him his presence is "not conducive to the public good". He was due to speak in London with Huda Ammori, a Palestine Action co-founder.

What we know

  • Home Office letter cites the public good
  • Malm says he has no tie to the group

Not yet

  • The Home Office's actual reason

Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK. Malm says he is not a member, has never endorsed it and has not funded it.

The Home Office said it does not comment on individual cases. Malm says it may be his 2023 remarks on the Oct 7 attacks, which he also called a deplorable killing of civilians.
