El-Sayed and Stevens to campaign together as Michigan Democrats seek unity

Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens will appear together Sunday at a Detroit church. It is their first joint appearance since days after the Aug 4 primary, which El-Sayed won narrowly.

Divisions showed this week when Stevens' fiancé said he would vote for Republican Mike Rogers. Stevens said she will vote for El-Sayed but urged him to "shut out the hate and call it out".

Primary ad spending against El-Sayed

$60 million nearly, in attack ads

Nearly $60 million was spent on ads attacking El-Sayed in the primary, including $30 million from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

And us?

Michigan has deep economic ties to Canada, which Trump has targeted with tariffs. Rogers appeared with Trump at a rally in Port Huron, just across the river from Canada.
