Peltola denies knowing of alleged plot to put two Dan Sullivans on Alaska's Senate ballot

Democratic candidate Mary Peltola said she knew nothing about any other candidate on the ballot except herself and the incumbent. "I am not interested in tricking voters," she said.

A newspaper reported that people tied to her campaign and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee aides tried to recruit a retired teacher, Dan J. Sullivan, to run. Peltola's campaign and Sullivan both deny it, and the report has not been independently verified.

Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan and allies accuse the Democrats of trying to confuse voters. The governor ordered an inquiry, and US media report the Trump administration is escalating a criminal investigation.
