France is deploying 70,000 police officers, closing more than 40 Paris metro stations and banning face coverings at demonstrations. The interior minister has warned of a "very high risk" of disorder.

What protesters complain about

  • The high cost of living
  • Poorly maintained schools
  • Government spending cuts
  • Politicians ignoring the young

Germany's "GenZ regelt!" ("Gen Z has got this!") movement cites the cost of living, school conditions and spending cuts. Youth-led protests with similar complaints have swept Europe in recent weeks.
