Workers at Mexico's social security institute march in Mexico City for a 10 per cent raise

Institute's offer

8%

Workers' demand

10%

The marchers rejected the 8 per cent raise the institute announced on Oct 21 and want 10 per cent added directly to wages.

They also demand the resignation of union leader Rafael Olivos Hernández and an end to shortages of medicines and medical supplies.

The march ended at the Interior Ministry, where a commission of eight workers went in to talk, and the workers say another march is coming.
