G20 foreign ministers end Atlanta meeting with no joint statement

The two-day meeting ended with no joint statement, split over the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took part over the objections of European and Canadian leaders.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there is growing interest in a limited Black Sea ceasefire to protect grain and energy shipments. He said Washington is reviewing proposals from Turkey and India to get grain moving.

EU foreign-policy chief Kaja Kallas said Lavrov showed no sign of willingness to make concessions and spread “a lot of lies”. Lavrov told reporters Moscow's position on the war is unchanged.

And us?

Foreign Minister Anita Anand said she confronted Lavrov directly, and that Canada has been in specific talks on a Black Sea ceasefire since September. She also discussed a moratorium on attacks on Ukraine's electrical grid with the Ukrainian and Indian foreign ministers.
