Deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to become cyclone Murasu
At 5:30 a.m. IST on Sunday the system was about 700 km east-southeast of Chennai. India's weather department expects it to become a cyclonic storm within hours, which would be named Murasu.

Landfall is forecast on the morning of Tuesday, Nov 3, on Andhra Pradesh's coast between Nellore and Narasapur.
The department's bulletin says it could cross as a severe cyclonic storm, with winds of 100 to 110 km/h gusting to 120 km/h. Its director general said the forecast is for a cyclonic storm, with a slight chance of a severe one.
Background
The system follows Cyclone Arnab, which struck Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and other parts of southern India days earlier.
