Refinery strikes for a month
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Nov 1 that if the United States provided Patriot missiles for one month, Ukraine would stop hitting Russian oil refineries for the same period.
"If you want us not to attack Russia's refineries, they have not to attack our energy system," Zelensky said in a U.S. television interview.

The U.S. State Department approved the sale of 500 Patriot interceptors to Ukraine on Oct 30, worth US$2.1 billion, but Zelensky warned deliveries could take years.
Why it matters
U.S. President Donald Trump, facing soaring energy prices at home, has demanded that Russia and Ukraine stop striking each other's energy sites. A local truce in the Kherson region ended on Nov 1 after Russia refused to extend it, Ukrainian officials said.
