Australian service member questioned after camera found in navy ship's women's showers
HMAS Leeuwin, Cairns
Queensland, Australia
The video recording device was found Sunday in the women's showers of HMAS Leeuwin, docked in Cairns, Queensland. A Defence Force member identified as a person of interest is helping military police with inquiries.
“This act is the most despicable betrayal of trust,” said Vice-Admiral Matt Buckley, the Chief of Navy, adding that an audit of bathroom facilities across the fleet is under way.

Senator Jacqui Lambie, who raised the case in the Senate, wants an independent body rather than Defence to investigate. She said others have come forward over similar incidents in recent months.
