Ontario Premier Doug Ford

Former Postmedia chair Paul Godfrey accuses Premier Doug Ford's office of using a contract as leverage

In a sworn statement, Godfrey alleges that in January 2025 Ford's then chief of staff, Patrick Sackville, agreed to help speed a contract change for Keel Digital, chaired by Godfrey's son, then asked for a favour: an op-ed by the premier in Postmedia's Ontario papers.

Categorically untrue

The Premier's Office called the claims categorically untrue, and Sackville said the allegation is entirely false. Postmedia said no commercial consideration would ever be required to publish a politician's opinion.
