Two Syrian pipelines damaged as attacks on the energy network continue
Jbessa gas pipeline
Hasakah province, Syria
An explosion struck the Jbessa gas pipeline in southern Hasakah province on Thursday afternoon. The state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company called it a sabotage attack.
Hours earlier, a hole in the pipeline carrying oil products from Baniyas to Homs caused a fuel leak west of Homs. State media linked it to an attempted fuel theft, and crews have begun repairs.
