Police detain the founder of India's cockroach movement before a Delhi rally
Police detained Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party, on Friday as he left a house in Delhi. Two other leaders were jailed this week for five days, so all three main leaders are in custody.

Authorities closed Central Park, the planned rally site, and deployed thousands of police and paramilitary personnel. Hundreds still gathered nearby, waving Indian flags and shouting slogans.
Names removed from India's voter rolls
130 million names, at least
The movement wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over a voter-list revision that removed more than 130 million names. The Election Commission says it removed duplicate, deceased and fraudulent entries, and denies favouring any party.
Background
The movement began online in May after India's chief justice likened some unemployed young people to cockroaches. Its protests over leaked exam papers forced the education minister to resign.
