Actor Imran Khan ordered to leave India after joining a protest
Background
On Oct 10, Khan joined a protest called by the Cockroach Janta Party, part of a Gen Z-led movement seeking electoral reforms and the resignation of India's top election official over vote-fraud allegations. India's election commission denies them.
Police said Khan had taken part in the protest "despite not being an Indian citizen." The complaint came from Kirit Somaiya, a leader of the governing Bharatiya Janata Party, who accused the actor of a "conspiracy to spread anarchy in India."
"I don't have demands. I'm here as a citizen, as a person who lives in this city. I'm here to see why freedom of movement is being restricted, why people's voices are being suppressed," Khan told reporters at the protest.
