Israeli settlers attack olive harvesters and a US journalist in the West Bank

Injured near Abu Falah, a local official said

12 Palestinians

Dozens of masked settlers attacked Palestinians and set fire to cars and olive trees near the village of Abu Falah. A local official said 12 Palestinians were injured, four of them dual Palestinian American citizens.

American photojournalist Heidi Levine said dozens of settlers kicked her on the ground for at least 10 minutes. The Israel Defense Forces said a female journalist was hurt and that all circumstances would be examined.

Why it matters

The UN says the past two weeks brought more settler attacks than the whole harvest season last year. This year's attacks on the harvest have killed one Palestinian and injured more than 120 others.

We condemn criminal violence by any party in the West Bank and call for investigations, arrests, and convictions, of those responsible.
