Trump denies limiting Ukraine's access to the Starshield satellite network
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Donald Trump said of the slowdown: "It wasn't me and I don't think it was Elon," referring to Elon Musk, whose SpaceX runs Starlink.

Speed cap on the network
160 km/h
On Tuesday night, the network capped speeds at 160 km/h, so any weapon moving faster lost its connection. Russian strikes hit Ukraine after the slowdown, leaving some 600,000 people without power.
What we know
- Speeds were capped on Tuesday night
- Senators want an investigation
Not yet
- Who ordered the restriction
- When full speed returns
Musk suggested the US government may have been behind the restriction, and Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that speed had yet to be restored. A bipartisan group of US senators is demanding an investigation.
Allies push back
Italy's defence minister, Guido Crosetto, called any US move to limit Ukraine's satellite and intelligence access a major mistake that risks prolonging the war.
