Eminem defends his verse on Kid Rock's Christian album

Guests on the album

• Eminem
• Lil Wayne
• Jimmie Allen

Kid Rock released his Christian album Halfway 2 Jesus on Friday, with Eminem on the track "Heal My Faith" and guest spots from Lil Wayne and Jimmie Allen.

Some of Eminem's fans criticized the pairing: the rapper has attacked Donald Trump in his songs, while Kid Rock is one of the president's best-known supporters in music.

"Not about choosing sides, just choosing to make music with my old friend. Praying for all of us."

— Eminem, on social media

A long friendship

Kid Rock said the two Detroit natives have been friends for 40 years and that the album is about forgiveness and healing division.
