Nigeria confirms its first Ebola case, in Abuja
A woman who travelled from Uganda tested positive in Abuja after showing symptoms on Oct 7 and being admitted to a private hospital on Oct 11, Nigeria's health ministry said.

Authorities are tracing 44 people who came into contact with the patient, Health Minister Muhammad Pate said.
Kenya confirmed its ninth case on Oct 20, all in one cluster linked to a patient who travelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Cases in Congo since May
9,000 cases
The outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has passed 9,000 cases and 4,000 deaths since May, the second-largest Ebola epidemic on record.
The strain behind the outbreak
Bundibugyo
There is no licensed vaccine or specific treatment for the Bundibugyo strain of the virus, which has made the outbreak hard to contain.
