Alberta business groups welcome the end of separation uncertainty
After about three in four Albertans voted to stay in Canada, business groups said firms and workers can now plan with more certainty.
"This result removes a major source of uncertainty and allows businesses to focus on growing their operations rather than navigating questions about Alberta's future constitutional status."

71.29 US cents
The Canadian dollar rose to 71.29 US cents in trading on Tuesday. Currency analysts tie the gain mostly to an expected Bank of Canada rate hike on Oct 28, not to the vote.
Still at issue
Business leaders warn the grievances behind separatism remain. Calgary's chamber of commerce also worries that limits on newcomers, backed in other referendum questions, could leave major projects short of workers.
