Trump campaigns in Republican states as his party fights to keep Congress
This week's rallies
- Kansas, Monday
- North Carolina, Tuesday
- South Carolina, Wednesday
- Iowa, Thursday
- Florida, Friday
Trump is holding rallies this week in Kansas, the Carolinas, Iowa and Florida, then Georgia and Michigan, all states he won in 2024. Polls show Republican candidates in trouble even in states that usually vote for the party.
Kansas
US Great Plains
Kansas has not elected a Democratic senator since the 1930s, but a recent YouGov poll puts Democrat Adam Hamilton, a megachurch pastor, three points ahead of Republican Senator Roger Marshall.
Trump's promised spending for Republican candidates
400 million US$
Trump says he will spend more than US$400 million to help Republicans win, and that more than US$300 million has already gone to ads, rallies and get-out-the-vote programs. He gave no breakdown by race.
Senate seats Democrats are targeting
- North Carolina
- Maine
- Alaska
- Ohio
- Texas
Democrats need to win four Republican-held seats to take the Senate. Besides North Carolina, they are targeting Maine, Alaska, Ohio and Texas.
Americans vote on Nov 3, with control of the House and the Senate at stake. Trump's approval stands at 33 per cent in an Ipsos poll, the lowest since his return to power, with voters citing the cost of living.
