Tips sent to fraud.gov that lead to fraud charges can earn up to US$30,000 under the Justice Department's new program.

Trump said whistleblowers could also get a 1 per cent commission on recovered money, and that he will be the final judge of disputes.

Background

Existing programs, such as the IRS tax-fraud program, pay 15 to 30 per cent of recovered funds, but only after cases end.
