UK puts 100 million pounds into an AI biosecurity lab

OpenAI and Anthropic add up to 100 million pounds each, but in model credits, access and support rather than cash.
The lab will use AI to spot biological threats early and to speed up work on vaccines and treatments. It will be an independent non-profit.
