Bluesky plans payments and expands its AI app builder

What's next

Bluesky will add payments in the coming months, its first step toward making money without advertising, CEO Toni Schneider said on Thursday. Users will be able to support what they like on the network with money.

Yes, we need to make money, but because of our infrastructure, we cannot lock people in.

— Rose Wang, Bluesky's chief operating officer

What Attie can now make

  • Games
  • Polls
  • Dashboards

Its AI tool Attie, launched earlier this year to build custom feeds, now lets users make small apps from a typed prompt.

Each app gets its own web page to share with others. Schneider calls it social vibe coding, or vibe coding for a community.
