Withings now charges new users to sync health data to other apps
What changes
Accounts created from Oct 13 need a Withings Plus subscription to sync data automatically to apps such as Apple Health or Google Health.

The subscription costs US$9.95 a month or US$99.50 a year, and new devices come with a free one-month trial.
When the trial ends, syncing pauses, but data already in the other apps is not deleted.
Already a user
Accounts created on or before Oct 12 keep syncing for free, a member of the company's support team said, even when they register new Withings devices.
