Mistral releases the weights of its trillion-parameter AI model

The French company's Mistral Large 4 can now be downloaded and run by businesses and governments themselves, from Hugging Face or through its API.

Mistral says it matches a leading Chinese open model, GLM-5.3, on cyber tasks while using 47 per cent fewer tokens per task.

Open weights let organizations keep control of their data and systems, which Mistral pitches for cyber defence. Its science chief said such access "can't be cut off by definition."
