Intel says its budget laptop chips are sold out

Intel's chief financial officer, David Zinsner, says demand for its low-cost Wildcat Lake laptop chips outstrips supply.

The chips are in cheaper laptops such as the Dell XPS 13 and HP Omnibook 5 14, often with just 8 GB of RAM.

We are not optimistic about next year in terms of memory.

Intel expects no improvement in memory supply in 2027, while SK Hynix predicts the shortage will last through 2030.
