Trezor warns of suspected hardware implant in wallets from reseller CryptoBilis
A customer in Indonesia reported finding an extra circuit board with a cellular module and antenna inside a Trezor Safe 5 bought in August. Trezor says such a board could read the recovery phrase from the screen and send it out over a mobile network.
What buyers should do
Anyone who bought a Trezor from CryptoBilis since March 2026 should move their funds to a new wallet with a new recovery phrase, and not reuse the old one. Trezor offers a replacement device or a voucher.
