ChatGPT can now read the tabs open in Chrome

With OpenAI's Chrome extension installed, ChatGPT can view open browser tabs when a user tags Chrome in its web or desktop app. A demo showed it comparing three tabs of sofas.

Background

The update comes after OpenAI ended its ChatGPT Atlas browser, and resembles Google's Gemini-powered auto browse feature.
