High-confidence hotspots nationwide

799 hotspots

Satellites detected 799 hotspots across the country as of Thursday night, up 427 from the day before, though one blaze can show up as several.

Sumatra and Borneo, close to Singapore and Malaysia, are the worst hit. The haze has caused breathing problems for hundreds of thousands of people and closed schools in Malaysia and East Timor, according to reports.

What's next

President Prabowo Subianto has approved accepting help from neighbouring countries, the foreign minister said. Malaysia offered three helicopters, an aircraft and 52 personnel last month, and Singapore says it is ready to help.
