Bombardier plans a US$270 million investment in the U.S.

The company says the investment comes with 300 new jobs from expansion projects, on top of 500 open roles it is already hiring for. It follows days after Trump dropped threats to ban Bombardier from the U.S.

270 US$ million

The first phase includes the US$50 million announced earlier this month for Wichita, Kansas, with more planned in Indiana, Connecticut and Texas.

Trump's threats became a political issue in Kansas, where Bombardier employs 1,500 people in Wichita. In February he had threatened to decertify its aircraft, but Transport Canada approved the jets.

“We see a bright path forward for our highly skilled aerospace workers.”
