Ontario reviews a second ministry's funding after OSAP fraud findings

The Labour Ministry is reviewing Better Jobs Ontario, which helps unemployed workers retrain, and has paused new applications over "inconsistencies".

Workers funded in 2025

4,300 workers

Nearly 4,300 workers received funding in 2025, between $28,000 and $35,000 each for tuition, books, transportation and housing.

The review follows potential OSAP fraud at private career colleges, findings partly uncovered by KPMG and handed to the OPP.

The government will keep the college audit's results confidential; Liberal and NDP leaders criticized that decision.
