Toyota recalls more than 24,000 minivans in Canada over seat locks
The recall covers Sienna Hybrid minivans from model years 2022 to 2026. The locks on the second-row seat recliners may disengage when a seatbelt pretensioner activates, so the seatbacks could move in a crash.
What owners can do
Toyota tells owners not to carry passengers in the second row until the repair is done. Owners can check their vehicle identification number on Toyota Canada's recall lookup page.
Dealers will update the software in the electronic control unit that runs the seatbelt pretensioners, and Toyota will notify owners by mail.
