New Brunswick patients can now ask an AI tool about their care

Horizon Health patients using a virtual care app can type questions such as "Is this symptom normal?" The feature covers cardiac, surgical and maternity care.

7,700 patients signed up

Horizon Health launched the SeamlessMD app in 2023, and 7,700 patients have signed up so far.

The tool answers only from patient education the care team has approved, not from the open internet. For something like a fever, it sends patients to their nurse.

Vitalité Health Network also uses the feature, which makes New Brunswick the first Atlantic province to offer it in all health-care regions, according to Horizon.
