Carney ends his Turkey visit at an Istanbul mosque

On Saturday he toured the Kariye Mosque, a former Byzantine church known for its frescoes and mosaics. His office said the site shows the value of cultural heritage as a bridge between peoples.

What was agreed

On Thursday in Ankara, Carney and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan agreed a strategic partnership on defence and energy. Free-trade talks are expected to open in the coming weeks.
