Mayor Olivia Chow faces city councillor Brad Bradford. If he wins, she would be the first sitting mayor to lose since the current city was created in 1998.

Bradford also promises to scrap the land transfer tax on homes under $1.1 million and to hire 1,000 more police officers. Chow warns his cost cuts would close libraries and raise transit fares, which he denies.

What we know

  • Polls call the race too close to call

Not yet

  • Whether downtown turnout favours Chow

A pollster says the result will depend on turnout, especially downtown, where voters are more likely to back Chow.
